' We don't care! '
I bumped into a couple of Tunisian men at Jimmy's Cafe; one of them used to be one of my students and the other man was his friend. Anyway after my ex-student had explained what 'Earth Hour ' was ; he simply said ' We don't care ' which basically sums up quite a few Tunisians ' attitude to the environment which probably accounts for the many dirty beaches and litter-strewn streets especially at the weekends and during the holidays!

' C'est ne pas vrai '
The driver of the louage taxi commented that the 5 dinar coin my fellow passenger had given him was fake : ' C'est ne pas vrai '. Apparently the middle part of the coin could be taken out quite easily and there were a lot of these fake coins in circulation. By the way I was on my way to Nabeul for a day trip; it was independence day in Tunisia.

' It was 1,500 dinars '
Phil didn't seem to think 1,500 dinars was a lot to pay as rent for a flat even though he said it was a flat for two people. Must be a nice place for such a high rent!

' I went home and found seven aunts so I left ! '
In the taxi home I mentioned that I was going to the Italian pizza restaurant to have a pizza for dinner Tom said he'd come too. However, Fahim said he couldn't come as he had to go home; Cyrine had dinner ready for him. However, just after me and Tom had just bought an Italian ice cream as our dessert and walked into the town centre Tom noticed Fahim and Philip in the Japanese/Italian restaurant ; Fahim had gone home to find the flat swarming with his wife's relatives seven aunts were there! In the end tt seems that all Cyrine offered him for his dinner was cake!

' I'd prefer to stay here' 'Guess who's coming here in July ! ''The 7 string theory '
I'd had just lunch in Café Kom Koi when walked in Judy and Paul ;later on Dorra and half an hour after that Philip and Fahim. Quite a BC crowd!
Paul, Judy's husband, talked about having to move to the Ivory Coast for his job and is not looking forward to working and living there ; he would rather stay here in Tunisia!
Fahim mentioned that Eunice will here at the BC in July the ' Caretaker ' at BC Tunis from July to September , presumably while there's no Teaching Centre Manager and ATCM ( Sarah and Rob leave in the summer ). Apparently Eunice is currently being the 'Caretaker ' at BC Oman. Fahim mentioned that she's got a good salary at BC Oman she has to work much harder.
I haven't heard any good news from teachers who have to moved to other centres!
Fahim talked about his pet subject 'Astronomy ' and mentioned the ever increasing expanding of the universe and the star Alpha Centauri ; Philp mentioned the ' 7 string theory '!
At first it seemed Monday was going to be a boring day! but being in café Kom Koi there's always someone that I know and some interesting comments often crop up!

' I'm knackered ! '
Don's comment basically summed up how he,Cormac and I felt at the end of the week as we headed back home in the taxi to La Marsa. During the taxi ride there was a crazy driver in front of us zig zagging from side to side as if he didn't know where he was going.
