' I haven't seen any of the Star Wars films '

While waiting for the Star Wars parade I met a film student who hadn't seen any of the Star Wars films.

 

 

' We've just had an ice cream '

Matthew and son plus Mariol had just an ice cream from the Las Palmas ice cream parlour.

' He never felt comfortable as manager of Man United '

While having lunch in the new 'gallete ' restaurant with Philip he mentioned he'd read that David Moyes had never comfortable as manager of Manchester United .

' I just wanted to say 'hello ' .

On the beach I bumped into a Tunisian teacher who I'd met in 2012 while doing a conference style presentation.

' I designed the poster and the ticket for the Paul Klee 100 years exhibition '

On the bus back to La Marsa I met a young art student, Ons, who had designed a poster and a ticket for a competition re the 100 years anniversary celebrations of the artist Paul Klee.

' She was disecting the sushi ! '

While Philip and I were having dinner in the Japanese restaurant ' Sushi ' ; Philip mentioned that when he was last there with Aya, his fiancée, and Dave C and his girlfriend, Aya didn't really like the food and was dissecting the sushi and not even the noodles.

Jameela talking about the big amount of money she spends while living here in Tunisia.
She also mentioned that she has to use her UK bank account.
Peter said he had spent 70 dinars at the supermarket on just wine and beer that morning.

' I feel sorry for David Moyes '

During lunch Philp said he felt sorry for David Moyes; he mentioned what he had said in the interview I did with him on the qualities of a good manager - a good manager needs to be confident in what he says/does and be able to inspire his players. Unfortunately David Moyes wasn't able to do it at all; it seems he was doomed from the beginning when he got rid of Alex Ferguson's well experienced backroom staff!

A French tourist at Jimmy's Café had just tried to order some beer.

' Draw lots of circles '

Today's homework from the Art Class included drawing lots of circles to practise the basic of drawing 'eyes' ; it sounds a bit crazy drawing lots of circles. Anyway the other part of the homework is practise drawing parts of the face and do part of a portrait. 'circles ' now that reminds me of that classic song ' Windmills of my Mind ':

' I'm going to Hammamet '

Rob's going to Hammamet for his holiday next week! He doesn't often go anywhere so it's a surprise he's going somewhere.

' We're writing the script for a film '

In café Kom Koi I met three girls who were writing a script for a film that they were going to make.

' That was the third time the pizza was no good ! '

I'd just got back to La Marsa and as I was walking back home I bumped into Dave C. and his girlfriend , they had just been to the Japanese restaurant ' Sushi' . Dave then mentioned that the pizza he got last night from Pizzeria Primevera was bad in fact ' it was the third time the pizza wasn't any good '. The dough hadn't been cooked properly so after the first couple of weeks standards have slipped!

' The Senior Teacher turned up drunk on his first day at work! '

 I bumped into Peter on the bus to Tunis ; he talked about some of the management people at the British Council in Morocco , one of the Senior Teachers turned up drunk on his first day of work!

'I was near Carrefour , I tapped the brake and the car spun at 180 degrees !

I bumped into Joe who talked about his experience when he recently hired a car in Tunis.

' I originally came to Tunisia for just five weeks and I'll probably end up five years here ! '

I met Philip for a cup of coffee at the Blues Café and he mentioned that he  originally planned to come to Tunisia for just five weeks and he'll probably be here for five years! He will also have got married to a Tunisian girl.
We also talked about the World Cup and Philip predicted that Belgium and Germany will play well and England will win their group with seven points: drawing their first game against Italy and then winning their next games against Costa Rica and Uruguay.

' My father's the artist '

' My husband did the dolphin sculpture in Hammamet '

I went to the bazaar at the Saf Saf café and met a woman whose husband did the dolphin sculpture in Hammamet.

' Tunisians like Easter '

At least that what's the owner of the local chocolate shop said!

' La deuxieme fois '

This morning I went to the bank and twice I managed to leave my passport at the counter; the first time as I was counting my money and again when I sat down to recheck it. It's good that the cashier noticed ; by the way don't trust those money-counting machine ;I was 20 dinars short so I told the cashier and she double checked via the money-counting machine ; she was surprised that the machine wasn't working properly.

' I showed the film ' Dial M for Murder '

Philip mentioned he showed the film ' Dial M for Murder ' to his students ; when he was school he had seen this film and had to write up about the film.

 

 

' I'm going to the Blues Cafe for breakfast '

I bumped into Philip this morning , he said he was on his way to the Blues Café to have breakfast.

' I'm going to Carthageland ' on Wednesday '

I met Chaima for a coffee but before that we went for a walk on the beach and while we were sitting on the beach Chaima said she was going to Carthageland .

'Just like a pro '

At the art club during the  'first lesson ' I talked about the way I took photographs and Ines said 'Just like a pro ! '

Fahim who loves cartoons said Tom and Jerry is great and that the music really goes well with action in the story.

' I had to listen to the BBC News web site to help me ...'

One of the teachers, who was in the studio for the latest Teaching English Radio programme, mentioned that she had to listen to the BBC News website to help her with learning English especially with the English accent .

' I've got to make a good first impression ! '

It's fun! '

As I arrived for work Dora was also arriving and said ' Welcome to the Fun-House! ' ; later she mentioned she had 15 irritating students! probably one of her Elementary classes! At least she'll be on holiday soon! A chance to recover!
